Why do we greet everyone with "Om Sakthi"?

On this Guru Purnima Day (13-JUL-2022), it is a soul soothing exercise to contemplate on Guru and Mother. For all those in / from India, it is customary to greet each other with our two palms folded (touching each other) saying 'Namaste', 'Namaskar', 'Vanakkam', 'Namaskaramu', etc. All this in some way or the other means, "I bow to you". It is a beautiful way of respecting another person, by placing that person above one's own self. No matter the other person is older or younger, richer or poorer, literate or illiterate, this type of greeting just puts the self, below and elevates the person being greeted above. No other society, as far as we know has this kind of greeting. In Sanatan Dharma, it symbolizes the recognition of something higher than self in others.

In Shakti Peetam & Spiritual Center, everyone is greeted with term 'Om Sakthi'.  This even goes further in recognizing Mother AdhiParaSakthi who is present in every life form. When we say, 'Om Sakthi' to greet with folded palms, we are actually addressing the soul, which is a perfect image of Mother, bowing to Her in you, and thus recognizing our own self in others. This not only recognizes the Divine Mother in everyone, but also puts us all on equal pedestal. We don't look upon someone as higher than self. Irrespective of our gender, age, status, education, we recognize the fact that we are all equal and that the Mother is equally present in every one of us, without a nano difference.

What is more important for a peaceful life? Unconditional Love and recognition that Mother is equally seated in every life form.

Wish you all a Blessed Guru Purnima. May the Mother and Guru embrace you all and your family eternally, protect from all perils, and guide your life through this karmic journey.

Om Sakthi! Para Sakthi!
Om Sakthi! AdhiParaSakthi!
